Photo Gallery | Habitat for Humanity home being built with all-American materials

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Work is underway on a Habitat for Humanity home in New Hanover County, but it’s no ordinary home -- all of the material used for the project will be made in America.

Organizers say they wanted to help support the nation's economy.

The project is patriotic in another way -- the new homeowner, Tiesha Murphy, is a member of the Army Reserves, and Saturday actually marked her four-year anniversary in the service.

Murphy says she is thrilled to be able to own her own home.

Even though she’ll have to buy the home, Habitat for Humanity makes it affordable.
