WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - American Idol winner Scotty McCreery performed in front of a sold out crowd at Trask Coliseum at UNCW.

The singers said he loves performing in front of a home town crowd, of sorts. McCreery grew up in Garner, North Carolina. He said he has a lot of memories in the Wilmington area, including Wrightsville Beach.
McCreery sold out Trask Coliseum Friday night, singing to a crowd of about 5,500. He is currently on tour with country music star Brad Paisley.
