Crews work to finish portion of Cross-City Trail | Traffic

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Construction on the last Independence Boulevard portion of the Gary Shell Cross-City Trial will begin this week.

According to the City of Wilmington, drivers should expect delays in the area over the next five months, until the project is complete.

This project will extend 2,300 feet between Ashton Drive and Converse Drive to connect the existing portions of the trail on Independence.

Pedestrian signals will also be added at the intersection of Independence and Shipyard Boulevards.
