New portion of Cross-City Trail to open Friday near UNCW
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A new portion of the Gary Shell Cross-City Trail will open after a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 18 at 3 p.m.
A 170-foot bridge and boardwalk that spans the headwaters of Bradley Creek at the end of Teal Street, near UNCW, will connect the College Acres neighborhood with the Autumn Hall development, according to City of Wilmington spokesperson Malissa Talbert.
The next section of the trail—which will run from the bridge through Autumn Hall and connect to the trail on Eastwood Road—is expected to be under construction from the summer until the end of the year.
