WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Whole Foods lovers can rejoice – its new Wilmington location will be opening Wednesday, May 23 at 9 a.m. in the Oleander Place shopping center near Independence Mall, according to a spokesperson for the grocery store.
Sneak-preview tours will be offered to customers for $5 donations to Dreams of Wilmington and Good Shepherd Center on Sunday, May 20 and Monday, May 21.
There, customers can get a first look at what the store will offer as well as taste samples
Sunday's tour will be held between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Those interested need to register for the tour here.
The store will offer a free breakfast the day of the opening in the parking lot at 8 a.m. A bread-breaking ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. with Mayor Bill Saffo.
Oleander Place is located at 3804 Oleander Drive.
With the addition of the Wilmington Whole Foods, 180 new jobs in the area are said to have been created.
