Local bank named best place to work in NC | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - According to an independent survey, Live Oak Bank, out of Wilmington was named the best place to work in the entire state of North Carolina.

Employees from several different companies across the state were asked to complete a unanimous survey.

The findings of those surveys were analyzed and the final rankings were published in the latest edition of the North Carolina Business Journal.

Live Oak Bank was ranked at the top of the list.

Neil Underwood, the company's President says he was surprised when he found out they won.  "We've been fortunate enough to receive lots of different awards, but when it comes to the most honorable one, this is it," said Underwood.  "Nothing speaks better to a situation when employees come back and say it's the best place to work.  It has an immediate benefit and impact to our customers and shareholders."

Live Oak Bank has been headquartered in Wilmington since 2007.  The company is currently building a brand new location off Independence Boulevard, slated to open in April.
