WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A man faces a DWI and other charges after authorities with the Wilmington Police Department responded to an accident in the 2200 block of Wrightsville Ave. around 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.

A WPD spokesperson says that 24-year-old William Tyler Byrd crashed into an office building and was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Byrd was later charged with DWI, reckless driving and driving during revocation. Byrd had been arrested Jan. 23 for DWI and speeding, and posted a $1,000 bond for those charges.

Following Byrd's newest charges, he was also given a $1,000 bond that he posted. This time, however, his vehicle was seized.

Damage to the office building is estimated to be $25,000.
