Taxi driver robbed near Jason's Deli | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating a robbery of a taxi driver in the area.

The robbery happened on the 5300 block of Market Street near Jason's Deli around 5:00 Monday morning.

According to police, the taxi drivers was approached by a man who showed a gun and demanded money.

Police say the driver complied and said the robber left in a "red car" driven by another person he didn't see.

The victim said the man was between 40 and 50 years old, heavy set with a grey beard and wore a brown "Carhart" style jacket.

No injuries were reported.
