WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Police are looking for a woman they say stole items from several different stores at Independence Mall on Wednesday.
An officer actually talked with the woman after one of the stores she allegedly stole from decided not to press charges but afterwards learned the woman had given a fake name.
The officer located her vehicle in the mall parking lot and saw what appeared to be a lot of stolen merchandise inside. After getting a search warrant, the officer seized the goods.
There were items from Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, JC Penney, and Claire's, totaling more than $2,000.
Warrants for identity theft are out on Vickie Denise Strickland.
