WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – City council members will meet Tuesday night to discuss several items, including the construction of a 1.3-mile section of the Gary Shell Cross-City Trail.
Council members will talk about a sponsorship agreement and the financial aspects of the project. The majority of the project funding will come from a $555,000 gift from BCBSNC.
City Council will also consider a resolution to authorize the purchase of a fire truck for $651,000. This will serve as the WFD's only heavy rescue truck and replace two existing trucks on their fleet. According to a spokesperson for the city, the purchase of the truck was included in this year's budget.
Additionally, council members will discuss a new procedure to use when considering zoning appeals from sweepstakes businesses.
The City Council meeting will take place Tuesday night at 6:30.
