WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Four people were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a two car collision off S. 17th St. and John D. Barry.
At least one person was trapped inside of one of the vehicles for a short time because the door was so badly mangled.
All of the injured were transported to nearby hospitals. One person was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The remaining three were taken to Cape Fear Hospital.
Firefighters on the scene said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
One lane of S. 17th Street was shut down to one lane, but has since re-opened.
Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating the cause of the accident and whether any charges will be filed.
