UNCW Press Release

PINEHURST, North Carolina – UNCW women's golfer Lori
Beth Adams finished with a four-over-par 76 Thursday to qualify for the match
play portion of the 110th North & South Women's Amateur Championship at the
Pinehurst Resort.

A rising junior with the Seahawk program, Adams will face
Catherine O'Donnell in her first round match Friday at 8:26 a.m. O'Donnell
recently completed her collegiate career at UNC Chapel Hill, where she earned
medalist honors in NCAA West Regional to help guide the Tar Heels to an
appearance in the 2012 NCAA Women's Golf Championships. Live scoring for the
110th North & South Women's Amateur Championship is available at
golfstat.com.

Tied for third heading into the final round of stroke play
Thursday, Adams got off to a slow start by bogeying three of the first four
holes on Pinehurst's No. 8 Course. The Burlington, N.C., native was able to
recover from her tough start, playing the final 14 holes at just one-over-par
to post a stroke play scorecard of 217 (71-70-76) and earn a share of fifth
place.

All 16 match play qualifiers at the 110th North & South
Women's Amateur Championship will be in action Friday morning before play
continues in the afternoon with quarterfinal round action. The semifinals will
take place Saturday morning and the final round is slated for a Saturday
afternoon start.

All match play rounds for the 110th North & South
Women's Amateur Championship will be played on the famed No. 2 course of the
Pinehurst Resort and are scheduled to be 18 holes in length.
