WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The City of Wilmington has a new Director of Development Services effective Tuesday, June 26. Glenn Harbeck, a Wilmington local, will be replacing Deputy City Manager Tony Caudle who has served in an interim capacity since September 2011, according to a news release.
Harbeck will be bringing several skills and talents to his new position including years of firsthand experience. This will, in fact, be Harbeck's second time working for the City of Wilmington. He was the city's former senior planner from 1981-1985.
Harbeck holds a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from UNC- Chapel Hill and an undergraduate in Environmental Studies / Landscape architecture from Syracuse University.
Former Deputy Director Caudle said, "Glenn can and will bring a lot to our staff. We feel fortunate to have secured Glenn for this position. He is a respected practitioner in his field and is one of the best individuals at soliciting and facilitation community input that I have ever seen."
Harbeck has been owner and president of Glenn Harbeck Associates since 1990 where he specializes in community planning and public involvement.
