WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – After some controversy, an office that supports gay and lesbian students on the campus of UNCW is moving into a new home.
Some students complained after the university announced plans to move the LGBTQIA resource office.
The university wanted to merge it with the Women's Resource Center, but students and faculty were concerned the space was too small for both groups and would make the resource office less visible.
Now, the office will be moved to the Port City Room in August, which makes students and community leaders happy.
