WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Some local health care workers are getting praise for their work with patients who have diabetes.
The Diabetes Recognition Program has recognized providers with New Hanover Medical Group and Morgan Internal Medicine which are both part of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Physician Group.
To receive recognition, providers submitted data to prove their work in the program's key measures of diabetes care. Those include eye exams, blood pressure tests, nutrition therapy and patient satisfaction.
The recognition is valid for three years.
“For a person with diabetes, the right clinician can make the difference between living with diabetes, as opposed to suffering from diabetes,” said Richard M. Bergenstal, M.D., President, Medicine & Science, American Diabetes Association in a news release. “Clinicians who earn recognition through the Diabetes Recognition Program have an established track record of providing excellent diabetes care. The list of recognized clinicians is the first place to look if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with diabetes.”
Morgan Internal Medicine is located in the NHRMC Health & Diagnostics - Brunswick Forest facility on South Dickenson Drive in Leland. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (910) 332-0241 or click here.
