WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Students at UNCW will get to celebrate Thanksgiving a little early with a special "Wagsgiving" feast Wednesday.
Thanksgiving dinner will be served in Wagoner Hall from 4-9 p.m. so students can enjoy the holiday with friends, classmates and roommate who, for many, have become as close as family.
According to UNCW's website, this year's menu will offer 1,700 pounds of local "Carolina" turkey, 1,000 pounds of mashed potatoes, 600 pounds of corn, 600 pounds of green beans, 100 gallons of gravy, 500 locally-grown baked apples, 500 pounds of tofu turkey and a variety of pies.
In addition to food, students can enjoy games and music from a live DJ. They can also purchase "Wagsgiving" T-shirts for $8.
Meals are available for one meal swipe to students on meal plans, and also available for $9.69 plus tax.
