WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Fire Department now has two thermal imaging cameras thanks to money from the Firehouse Subs Safety Foundation.
The fire department applied for a $17,000 grant to buy the cameras that are primarily used to locate victims and the seat of the fire.
They were given the money during an official presentation at Firehouse Subs on Oleander Drive Tuesday morning.
According to a press release, “Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is dedicated to better equipping and education public safety entities where the founders’ roots are deepest.”
