New health facility to open in Walmart on Sigmon Rd. | Events

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) — Wilmington Health and NextDoor Health have partnered to open a new facility, called The Clinic, in the Walmart located at 5226 Sigmon Road.

The public is invited to the grand opening on Friday, July 15, which will feature giveaways, tours, refreshments and complimentary BMI screenings. Attendees can also enter to win an iPod Touch.

Randy Sloan, MD, a Wilmington Health physician at The Clinic, will be available to answer questions.

“We are particularly excited about the opening of our Walmart location,” said Jeff James, Wilmington Health Chief Executive Officer, in a news release. “The Clinic at Walmart is the first of its kind in the Wilmington market. It provides our community with unique access to convenient, full-service primary care in a familiar retail setting. Best of all, patients may be referred to a broad range of specialists and their visits will be documented in our electronic medical records, all part of our on-going commitment to provide the best care possible to our patients.”

The Clinic at Walmart will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with extended and weekend hours coming soon.
