WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A man was charged for having possession of heroin early Friday morning after he threw the drugs on the ground and tried to run away from officers.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers were responding to a call of a suspicious vehicle on McClelland Drive around 2:45 a.m. and noticed a small bag with a white powder in it under the passenger seat.
When officers asked what was in the bag, 32-year-old Antonio Nathan Greene took off running. Police said Greene threw several bindles of heroin on the ground during the foot chase.
Officers caught and arrested Greene for two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and resisting arrest.
