On March 27, a nationwide celebrate called Day of Giving will commence at Jersey Mike’s nationwide, benefiting 86 charities, including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more. On that same day, when Wilmington Jersey Mike’s customers buy a meal, 100 percent of profits will go towards Poplar Grove Plantation.
“Poplar Grove Plantation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to education, preservation and service to the community, celebrates Jersey Mike's support through the Month of Giving to help foster an awareness of the complex issues surrounding race, class, and gender in a cultural, social, political, geographical and historical context,” said Caroline C. Lewis, Executive Director of Poplar Grove Plantation, in a statement. “The funds will help to provide an opportunity to expand the role of slavery and the value of exercising democratic principles through an archival display of historical documents and photographs.”
