WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The YWCA will celebrate the opening of its refurbished pool bubble Monday during a grand re-opening celebration event.
According to a press release, the YWCA has planned a pool party and ribbon cutting ceremony with Cape Fear Memorial Foundation Chairman W. Carter Mebane III.
The YWCA was able to replace the bubble’s liner this summer with funds from the Save the Bubble Campaign.
“We are excited to put the bubble up on September 15,” said Aquatics Director Lance Tate. “None of it would have been possible without the generosity from Cape Fear Memorial Foundation and our members.”
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend the re-opening celebration at the YWCA Monday at 4:30 p.m.
The YWCA is asking for volunteers willing to help install the bubble. They plan to start at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. They need around 30-40 people to volunteer and lunch will be provided.
The YWCA is at the corner of South College Road and Holly Tree Road in Wilmington.
If you would like to help, call Katie Tate at the YWCA at (910) 799-6820 x104.
