Tax office holds 'slumber party' for last-minute filers

Liberty Income Tax on College Road will be open until midnight on Monday night to accommodate those who are filing last-minute tax returns.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Liberty Income Tax on College Road will be open until midnight on Monday night to accommodate those who are filing last-minute tax returns.

That's the tax filing deadline is Monday, April 15.

Brandon Serbus, the owner of Liberty, said they're seeing a lot of procrastinators this year. This is mainly because there was a delay at the federal level in having forms ready for taxpayers.

That's why the Liberty office is having what they're calling a "slumber party" for last-minute filers this year. They will have tax professionals there around the clock.

While at the tax office, those who are filing are encouraged to drop off cell phones for soldiers. Every cell phone donated is recycled and provided to soldiers stationed overseas.
