NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The New Hanover County Health Department is expected to begin spraying the area Tuesday night to control the mosquito population.
Earlier this month a man from Goldsboro died from West Nile virus, which is typically transmitted by mosquitoes. Some symptoms of the virus include fever, headache and a stiff neck.
If the rain holds off, spraying will start at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the following areas:
The Health Department will continue spraying Wednesday, weather permitting, in the following areas:
In the event of rain the spraying will be rescheduled.
